The Holy Spirit Is The Game Changer – Sam Adeyemi

The effect of a good coach is always evident in a soccer match especially if, during the first half in spite of the team’s best efforts, things do not work out for them. They take a half-time break and after they come back, the coach introduces a player so that within minutes, the new player either scores a goal or assists another team member in scoring a goal. That new player is usually called a game changer.

In Isaiah 32, everything appeared dreadful until God’s Spirit was poured out and from that moment everything that was not working began to work. In Genesis 1:2, the earth was without form and darkness covered the face of the earth until the Holy Spirit moved.

The Holy Spirit is the Game Changer! No matter how bad the situation appears, always remember that God’s Spirit is there for you.

Many times, we leave Him at home after we have had our morning devotion and go about our business without involving Him.

You cannot be overwhelmed when you have God’s presence (Psalm 23:4). You need to be conscious of God’s presence even though He is invisible.

In John 5, Jesus met with a Samaritan woman at a well and after asking her for some water, a conversation ensued.

It got to the stage where she was asked to call her husband then she opened up that she had been divorced five times and was currently living with a man who wasn’t her husband.

It was obvious that she was looking for satisfaction which she felt could only be found in men and marriage. She met Jesus, the Game Changer, who let her know that what she was looking for was in God and not in men. Only God gives lasting happiness.

Not only will you be happy but you will have some happiness to share with others. When the Game Changer comes into your life, He comes to give to you (John 10:10). Anyone who came in contact with Jesus always experienced a dramatic change.

Joseph was a young man in the Bible who was oppressed, harassed and intimidated by his brothers but then the Bible records that he had Holy Spirit inspired dreams in which he saw himself as a national leader (Genesis 37). From that point, everything seemed to go downhill for Joseph as he was sold into slavery, he was lied against and thrown into prison, but one day, his dreams came to pass.

The mind is very powerful because what you are thinking today will become your reality tomorrow. Until you change your thinking, you cannot change your life (Romans 12: 2).

There is no sin He cannot forgive. Moses was a murderer yet God used him. We also read about the woman who was caught in adultery and brought to Jesus for judgement.

Instead of stoning her to death, Jesus forgave her sins (John 8). Everybody may have condemned you but as you bring your case to God who has the power to forgive you, everyone putting a negative label will be proven wrong (Romans 8:1-2). Commit every area of your life to God, the Game Changer.
